The campaign trail. What to say — and how to get people to see through the illusions, the spin, the programming.

The big movement in Australia right now is the shift to One Nation. People believe the promise that they will fix it all. I can see how that evolved: Liberal and Labor have let the nation down, people want a fix, and along comes a party promising one. But look deeper and it is more of the same. The same policies dressed up as fixes. Same same, but different.

I believe One Nation will divide this country. Already the division is real — those who hate them and those who love them, the way it went in the United States with Trump. Not a Labor-versus-Liberal division, but one built on race, on bigotry, on lies and spin.

One Nation is not the solution. But people say we have no other options — every party sucks, and at least this one will shake things up. I understand the feeling. The problem is that it is the illusion of choice. All three are lined up on the same positions: Israel, AUKUS, US bases, and where we sit on China. Warmongering in the Asia-Pacific is close to assured with any of them. Our national position in the world matters, and that is a serious issue in my book.

Which is why Sovereign Australia exists.

I am building a policy comparison on the website — a summary of the issues, and exactly what each party offers as a solution. The Israel and Palestine breakdown is up now, split into eight categories across five parties. Worth noting: One Nation has published no policy on it, and on the public record appears to be the most pro-Israel party of the five.
