THREE DEMANDS

Website almost finished. Canberra is a beautiful city and you should come and see it — bring your thermals.

Do our political parties offer us a real choice, or the illusion of one? Is One Nation just another leg of the same arrangement, answering to the same interests as the rest?

That is how it looks from here. So here are three demands of everyone who represents this country.

One: independence. A united Australia, free of foreign entities directing our government and our path. Full lobbying transparency — every name, every cent handed to government — and every treaty and agreement made public. No deals done in the dark.

Two: swear to Australia, in public. Every federal, state and local representative, every politician, diplomat and public servant, to declare and pledge allegiance to Australia and its people — out loud, in a public ceremony, for all to see — and to disclose in full any other affiliation or allegiance they hold. And the oath in the Constitution itself rewritten: to Australia, not to the King of England.

Three: a Royal Commission into AUKUS and defence strategy. A full, official, independent review — to realign the arrangement so it serves Australia’s own defence, to examine the current defence and logistics plan in the event of sea-lane disruption or blockade, and to establish exactly how much sovereignty has been signed over to the United States and the United Kingdom.

Three demands. None of them costs anything. All of them would be resisted, which tells you something.
